I got into photography shortly after reading a memoir of Gordon Parks. His "Life" magazine collection is all one needs to see that the dude was a genius with a camera. An accoplished filmmaker and poet whose pioneering chronicles of the black experience in America made him a revered elder and a cultural icon, Gordon died yesterday at his home in New York.
He was 93.

HABC, (unfortunately, their site is down now), is a great opportunity for networking and discussing pressing challenges in Africa.
