Farewell Mr. Parks

I got into photography shortly after reading a memoir of Gordon Parks. His "Life" magazine collection is all one needs to see that the dude was a genius with a camera. An accoplished filmmaker and poet whose pioneering chronicles of the black experience in America made him a revered elder and a cultural icon, Gordon died yesterday at his home in New York.

He was 93.

Hi JJ
I've been meaning to ask you - why do you call your blog moose tales -and what is the Harvad African Business conference?

Moose said...

interesting questions...
i call the blog moose tales because my nickname is drunkmoose (i'll blog about how i got the name in the future).

HABC, (unfortunately, their site is down now), is a great opportunity for networking and discussing pressing challenges in Africa. The theme of the conference builds upon discussions looking to Africa's future and what efforts need to be undertaken to seize the opportunities to grow and transform business on the continent.

check out http://www.hbsafricaconference.org/2006/
when the site is back up... not sure what happened to it!
